The original name of the International Society of Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology (ISBAB) was International Society of Biocatalysis and Biotechnology (ISBB). ISBB was established on December 6, 2006 after two successful international symposia; "Biocatalysis and Biotechnology: Functional Foods and Industrial Products" in October 2015 and "Biocatalysis and Bioenergy" at the National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taichung, Taiwan on December 6, 2006. In 2010, ISBB expanded its scope and its Board decided to change its society name to ISBAB (http://www.isbab.org).
ISBAB 2019 welcomes research papers covering, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Functional Food and Nutraceuticals
- Bioprocesses
- Biofuels and Bioproducts
- Biocatalysis
- General Biotechnology
